What are THCa Diamonds?

The THCa diamond, known as crystalline tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa), is a new product in the cannabis industry that is quickly replacing the hush.

THC crystals result from a cold extraction method that uses pressure to remove the living resin from cannabis. The resulting diamonds, however, are not THC; they are crystals of 97-99% pure THCa.

Terpenes and other cannabinoids make up one to three percent of a THC diamond, making it the purest and most potent extract product on the market.

The smallest is about the size of a sand grain and weighs several grams. Diamonds form in cannabis concentrate sauce, a crystalline structure with a glossy, runny consistency.

THCa in its purest form is synthesized from THCa Flower with a THCa profile of up to 99%. Given their crystalline structure, diamonds come in various sizes, shapes, colors, and clarity grades.

THCa diamonds are adaptable additives that can enhance the cannabis user’s experience in some ways, from the strength of dabbing to infusing pre-rolls. Once lit, this decarboxylates the THCa, making it active. .

Process to make THCa Diamonds

Heat converts non-intoxicating THCa into intoxicating THC, which causes classic THC high. THC in its acid form is known as THCa. Sauce crystallizes into diamond-like crystalline structures, a cannabis concentrate with a high terpene concentration and liquid consistency.

A closed-loop system is used to make the sauce, and the solution is put through different temperatures and pressures before it settles to the right consistency.

The ideal process of raising and making diamonds is to simultaneously increase the pressure and temperature. Temperature from 117 to 160 maintained with 250 PSI for 300 seconds. In this environment, cannabinoids like THCa are more likely to form crystals independently.

Crystalline THCa, a powdery concentrate almost entirely composed of cannabinoid acid, can be extracted from THCa diamonds through additional processing.

How to use THCA Diamonds?

Using THCa diamond is not very different from using regular hemp. In terms of smoking or dabbing, THCa diamonds are similar to other cannabis concentrates such as shatter, wax, or hash oil.

Users typically use a butane torch to heat the dab nail in a dab rig before applying a “dab” of diamonds before smoking. Diamonds can be used to boost the potency of whole-flower cannabis products.

Other ways of consuming THCa diamonds are:

  • Vaping diamonds concentrate
  • Smoking an extract crystalline of THCa diamond
  • Dabbing
  • Eating (non-psychoactive when eaten)

Effects of THCA Diamonds

Consider that the effects of THCa diamonds could be up to four times stronger than smoking a joint. Do not smoke an entire diamond without testing its effects with a small amount.

The concentration of THCa in pure in diamond form can be up to 99%, so it’s better to consume it in less quantity; high concentration usage of diamonds for a new user can be discombobulating.

THCa diamonds don’t technically break any laws, so they are considered legal. The DEA office in Justice Department issued a letter on January 2022 saying “Hemp” as any product derived from the cannabis plant with a Delta-9-THC concentration of not more than 0.3% of dry weight is considered legal under federal law and not controlled under the CSA.

THCa diamonds are not psychoactive until they are decarbed (dabbing it or smoking it is what decarbs it).
