What is THC-O Acetate
THC-O is a minor cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. THC-O is known by several different names including: THC-O Acetate, THC-O Distillate, and ATHC. What makes THC-O Acetate different from cannabinoids such as Delta 8 THC (D8) or Delta 9 THC (D9) is that:
- THC-O Acetate has psychoactive effects that are reported to be more potent than both Delta 8 and Delta 9.
- In the THC-O Acetate molecule, an acetate group is chemically bound to the main THC molecule.
The end result is that you get a form of THC that’s able to bind to the cannabinoid receptors at a higher rate, which might be the reason consumers report it to feel stronger than Delta 8 or Delta 9. However, everyone is different, so the effect you have may not be the same as someone else’s experience.
